2026 India Landscape and Strategy Report by CPHC Design Lab
In 2025, Leapfrog to Value developed the India Value-Based Care Strategy Report, "What We Value in Health," where the coalition first proposed a Comprehensive Primary Health Care Design Laboratory as one of four catalytic initiatives to move India from fragmented, volume-based care to outcome-focused investment.
Leapfrog to Value (initiative of GDI), Swasti working through the CPHC Alliance network, and ISB's Max Institute of Health Management, created the The CPHC Design Lab. It is a new institutional home for building trustworthy, high-value primary healthcare across India.
On July 24, 2026, at KACHCON in Kolar, Bengaluru, the Lab launched its India Primary Healthcare Landscape & Strategy Report—mapping the systemic barriers of trust deficit, under-investment in prevention, and financing blind spots that keep primary care low-value despite India's infrastructure gains. We developed this by consulting 22 experts in primary care through deliberative dialogues and conducting secondary research.
The Lab, will co-design, prototype, and scale primary care models over the next year across five tracks: landscape mapping, delivery innovation, financing innovation, real-world prototyping, and governance design.
